Matt's second update

My tessellation is finished along with my wire sculpture below. I really like both.
The computer design of the tessellation was completed before I actually carved it.

The wire sculpture has plenty of swirls and curls.

The last picture really demonstrates what it looks like. The shape is like two cones connected at the bases. The piece has a different type of 'thing' off of each of the three wires on the top cone. i.e. swirl around the wire, very long curl off the wire, and loops off the wire. you can see the loops get smaller, the curls get larger (they're really big) and the swirls get smaller also. It is connected at the bottom, and the piece hangs from the top.

It was hard to photograph the wire. It looks better in person...
Oh well.

Alyssa's summer work progress

So for the wire project i designed this form. It seems a little simple but i like the shape it made. so again there might be a little twerking with this one too, but not a major change.

So this is the abstract shape i designed for my foam piece. im not 100% happy with the way it turned out so i may to a little more shaping to it.

For this project i wasnt quite sure if we were supposed to use the one shape we designed for the whole model( which is what i did), so i hope i did it right. this too didnt turn out exactly as planned so i will be adding more to it.

pears in oils

I used a knife for a more textured look. I'm not completely satisfied with the result and might go back and modify it a little.

I just went and saw the Impressionist Exhibit at the De Young Museum. It was great :)
